Managing Director's Profile

With a career spanning decades, Motshereganyi ‘Tshere’ Sefanyetso has been involved in public education since his high school days as an actor in the school drama group. Armed with a BA in Humanities and a Post Graduate Diploma Education (PGDE) from University of Botswana, these qualifications paved his career success as he now owns Storms Roadshows Company.

For two years, he has won the ‘Best Actor’ prize and was a regular member of Joint Production for Reetsanang which was an Association of Community Drama Groups. Impressively, Tshere was part of the Theatre Joint Production that represented Botswana at the SADC Theatre Festival in Maputo Mozambique in 1997, which was funded by the Department of Arts and Culture. He also attended a drama course called ‘From page to stage’ in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1998. In addition, he was sent by Maitisong Festival to Grahamstown Arts Festival in South Africa, Chimanimani and HIFA Festivals in Zimbabwe.

Tshere initiated the Maitisong Festival outdoor shows which attracted audiences of more than 20 000 people over two weekends and has successfully coordinated the shows for more than 10 years up to date. After completing his tertiary education at University Of Botswana, he was employed at OP Design to head the Roadshows Department. Op Design was commissioned to do a roadshow for Vista, a new cellphone company. Tshere’s duties included hiring a crew, training it, booking venues, and running shows, supervising sales, live reporting on RB2 about promotion on each day of the show and writing reports for the show. At the end of the show after eight months the crew had done 180 performances and was responsible for more than 150 0000 Vista Connections then.

Moreover, he also coordinated the ‘Ke Nako’ HIV/AIDS Roadshow. The show was done in collaboration between the Ministry of Health, National Aids Coordinating Agency (NACA) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). This roadshow had three different plays, theme songs, motivational speeches, to mention a few. Tshere trained the crew, coordinated the roadshow and was in charge of all logistics. At the end of the show the crew had done over 250 performances.

Through Storms Roadshows Company, he coordinated roadshows for Ministry of Health on Youth and Alcohol Abuse, Malaria, TB, HIV/AIDS, ‘No Tobacco’, Cervical Cancer and Oral Health campaigns. Tshere further coordinated one of Botswana’s top mbobile network companies, Mascom’s Motse Le Motsana roadshows selling Mascom products and services, My Zaka mobile money registrations, Sim Swop and all services. This led to him also coordinating Botswana Telecomunications Corporation (BTC)’s initial public offering (IPO) roadshows which aimed at teaching the public and its customers about BTC shares and how to acquire them.

Some of the notable clients that Tshere has led their roadshows include; BBS Bank, Department of Waste Management, Botswana Communication Regulatory Authority (BOCRA),Botswana Insurance Fund Management (BIFM), Botswana Unified Revenue Services (BURS), Mukuru, Orange Botswana, Ministry of Youth Sports and Culture, African Comprehensive HIV/AIDS Partnerships (ACHAP), Sesigo, Wise Up, VMMC, Dreams Botswana, Botswana Insurance Holdings Limited (BIHL) and the Non-Banking Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority (NBFIRA).

Through his career, Tshere has been directing, training the crew, overseeing material review, producing scripts, coordinating logistics and ensuring the success of all the roadshows. He has also done a lot of voice overs for radio commercials, acted in television commercials and dramas. The programmes he has featured in include being ‘Mr Mascom’ on Mascom game show, Direct Top Up, ‘O icheke’ television advert, ‘Re Bina Mmogo’ as cast member called Oremeng, ‘The No 1 Ladies Detective Agency’ movie as school teacher ‘Mr Morapedi’ , played ‘Jackson’ in Morwalela television series, ‘Kgosi Loago’ in Mareledi television series and recently as ‘Mr Brex’ in Colours television series.
